Have you been wondering why would a company call themselves PineappleLine? What does Pineapple have to do with Line and what do Pineapple + Line have to do with Marketing? We hear you. And believe us, we get this question ALL the time. So, we decided we should take some time to explain the meaning behind our (fun) name.

Why the fruit Pineapple?

First of all, many of us have heard the phrase “Be Like a Pineapple. Stand Tall, Wear a Crown and Be Sweet on the Inside“. This is how we want every single one of our customers to be. When working with a customer, designing a logo, defining their brand, building a website or advertising on social media, we want our customers to:

Stand Tall: Be who they are and be proud of their name and brand
Wear a Crown: Become the leaders in their industry
Be Sweet on the Inside: Appreciate and respect their people and their customers, and help them find their true value and mission

The fruit Pineapple is also recognized as a symbol of hospitality, friendship, and recognized as a traditional expression of “welcome” in many cultures. Not to mention that it’s the universal party fruit (We like that!).

Of course we also did some research and found out that the meaning of the Pineapple spans centuries.

The Pineapple was first brought to Europe by Christopher Columbus in the 15th Century and because of its rarity it was uniquely valuable and considered a symbol of wealth, thus the rise of the Pineapple’s reputation as a status symbol. In fact, in those days, the ability to have a Pineapple adorn the dining table for an important event determined their rank in society.

In Chinese, the sound of the word Pineapple is close to the sound of “good luck coming your way,” so the Pineapple has become a popular traditional feng shui symbol of wealth, fortune, and prosperity.

And how about the word Line?

Line is probably the most fundamental and the most basic of all the elements of design. It is the starting place for most artistic creation and is at the heart of form. Thus from a design and creative point, the Line represents all we do!

Lines are not all the same. And neither are our projects. Lines can be long or short, horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. They can also be thick, thin, curved, straight, solid, dashed, or anything in between. And that’s how our clients are: all different and unique.

Now if you add Pineapple + LineThat’s the company we believe in!
